Mestiza Sans specimen from Lechuga Type

A sans-serif companion to Mestiza Serif that retains subtle vestigial serif details across six weights with matching italics, targeting headline, branding and editorial work.

About

Part of the wider Mestiza system, this family is designed to complement and extend the serif version by introducing a cleaner but not entirely neutral sans. Subtle traces of serif construction remain visible, lending the design a handcrafted quality that sits between classical elegance and contemporary utility. The character set exceeds 700 glyphs, covering small caps, ligatures, alternates, symbols and six numeral styles including oldstyle, lining, small caps, superiors, inferiors and fractions.

Classification

A sans-serif that deliberately retains vestigial serif traces, placing it in the humanist tradition with calligraphic roots. The retention of serif relics and the pairing with a serif counterpart reinforce its humanist classification.
