Utily Sans specimen from Latinotype

A geometric sans with humanist proportions, conceived as a reimagining of Futura through the lens of humanist warmth, with Cyrillic support across six weights and matching italics.

About

Designed by asking what Futura might have looked like had Paul Renner leaned toward humanism over pure geometry, it pairs geometric simplicity with glyph proportions that ease reading at text sizes. The family spans six weights with matching italics, and includes alternate geometric characters, uppercase discretionary ligatures, small caps, lining figures and old-style numerals. Notably, it was the first Latinotype release to include Cyrillic alongside support for over 200 Latin-based languages.

Classification

Sits between geometric and humanist sans traditions, drawing on Futura's geometric simplicity while incorporating humanist stroke modulation and proportions suited to extended text setting.
