Taberna
Latinotype · Jorge Cisterna, Rodrigo Fuenzalida · 2016

A 22-style layered type system drawing from bar signage, liquor packaging and street wear, comprising serif, sans-serif and script components designed for heavy display use.
About
Taberna pairs two weights each of a serif and a sans-serif with inline and shadow variants, creating a layered system of 20 styles suited to headlines, posters and logotypes. A companion monolinear script completes the family, designed to complement the heavy caps of the roman cuts. The design pulls its character from bar signage and street wear traditions, giving it a robust vernacular personality at display sizes.
Classification
A layered type system with serif, sans-serif and script components designed for display and signage use, drawing from bar and street wear aesthetics. The layering approach and heavy caps place it firmly in the display category.
