Blackberry
Latinotype · Jorge Cisterna, Bruno Jara · 2019

A ten-style layered display family by Jorge Cisterna and Bruno Jara, drawing on wood type conventions and vintage packaging design to produce a system of 3D extrusions, shadows, inline and outline cuts.
About
Built for high-impact applications such as album covers, movie posters and product labels, Blackberry offers multiple combinable layers including dimensional extrusions, inline, outline and shadow styles alongside dingbats and flag ornaments. Angular serifs, slightly curved strokes and sharp edges give it the mechanical character of nineteenth-century wood type, reframed for contemporary use. Its character set covers over 200 Latin-based languages.
