A modular grid alphabet after Kharkiv constructivist Vasyl Jermilov, in solid and stencil cuts with ten interchangeable sets.
About
Jermilov's letters came out of the 1920s hunt for a universal typeface anyone could reproduce with a grid and a knife. Gergun and Anfalov worked through the artist's estate and translated it into two cuts, treating the stylistic sets as a kit that generates endless variants. The same idiom still survives on post-Soviet entrance signs and bus stops.
Classification
Uppercase letters assembled from a few geometric elements on a 3x5 square grid, plus a signature lowercase a, in Solid and Stencil cuts with ten stylistic sets. A font-constructor, not a text face.
