About
Missive Bead began as an exploration in translating Missive Serif's ornate forms into beaded embroidery. A grid designed around the proportions of a bugle bead — longer than it is wide — uses three axes (horizontal, vertical, 15° diagonal) to let the calligraphic character of the original survive within the prescribed structure. The result pairs with Missive Serif as a decadently ornate typographic pair.

Grid-based companion to Missive Serif, constructed on a bugle-bead embroidery grid with horizontal, vertical, and 15° diagonal axes. The diagonal axis preserves the calligraphic flow of Missive Serif within the constraints of the bead grid, producing a pixelated-ornate hybrid.
