About
Hofmann grew out of the studio's research into the teaching materials of Basel School of Design tutors from the 1950s and 60s, specifically an exercise from Armin Hofmann's Graphic Design Manual. Every letter is built from the same four-by-four dot grid. A research piece as much as a working typeface.
