A mono-linear Bengali sans-serif in five weights, offered in both flat-terminal and rounded variants, with scribal construction details left deliberately exposed.
About
Designed by Jyotish Sonowal and released in 2013, Tatsam Bengali takes its cue from engineer-drafted letterforms with consistent stroke thicknesses, while retaining visible traces of scribal construction at the starting points of inter-character strokes. Two stylistic variants are offered: a flat-terminal version and a rounded option, each spanning five weights from Light to Bold. The range of stroke thicknesses supports clear typographic hierarchy across both text and display settings.
Classification
A mono-linear Bengali sans-serif with vestigial scribal construction traces, placing it within the humanist sans tradition despite its industrial mono-linear approach. Also sold in Bengali Rounded versions.
