A Clarendon-revival text family in seven weights with italics, designed by Diana Ovezea and Samo Ačko for sustained body-text reading in editorial and book contexts.
About
Drawing on the vertical stress, ball terminals and bracketed serifs of mid-nineteenth century English Clarendons, Passenger Serif channels that tradition into a face built for small-size legibility and comfortable long-form reading. Double-storied 'a' and 'g' appear in the uprights, switching to single-storied forms in the italics, and each font ships with 13 f-ligatures and a full suite of OpenType figure sets. A companion display family, Passenger Serif Display, is available for larger-scale applications such as magazine layouts and exhibition graphics.
Classification
A Clarendon-style slab serif with vertical stress axes, ball terminals and chunky bracketed serifs drawn from mid-nineteenth century English Clarendon types, adapted for sustained text reading at small sizes.
