Strike takes the sturdy letterform proportions of turn-of-the-century industrial type and strips them back to an extreme hairline weight, creating a tension between structural solidity and near-invisible strokes. The design draws directly from George Bruce & Co's Engravers' Hairline and the Skelettschriften tradition, while adding a set of modernist glyph alternates that push it beyond straight revival territory. Two subfamilies – Serif and Sans – extend the range across contrasting registers within the same conceptual framework.
Classification
An extreme hairline weight built on industrial turn-of-the-century proportions, drawing from engravers' lettering traditions and skeletal alphabets. The combination of rugged letterform structure with ultra-fine strokes places it firmly in the display category, unsuitable for text setting.
