About
Malva spans nine weights from Thin to Black, each with a matching italic, and is available as a variable font following a 2.0 update that also introduced alternate glyphs, tabular figures and arbitrary fractions. Careful differentiation of easily confused characters – I, i, l and 1 – underpins its legibility credentials. Awarded at Tipos Latinos 8 and the 12th Biennial of Brazilian Graphic Design, it covers over 200 languages and 545 glyphs per roman style.
Classification
A clean, upright humanist sans-serif with carefully differentiated ambiguous characters (I, i, l, 1) and proportioned letterforms suited to both text and display use. Its warmth and open counters align it with the humanist sans tradition.
