Anivers was commissioned to celebrate a Smashing Magazine anniversary and has since been expanded into a tightly controlled four-style family. OpenType features include ligatures, contextual alternates, fractions, oldstyle and tabular numerals, and case-sensitive forms. The Regular weight is offered as a free download, with the full family available through major resellers.
Classification
Anivers displays humanist sans-serif characteristics with a warm, legible construction suited to text use. Its modest stroke contrast and open apertures align it with the humanist tradition rather than geometric or grotesque models.
