Roumald sits in the tradition of early and late nineteenth-century American display serifs from Linn Boyd Benton and Morris Fuller Benton, but a CNC router stood in for the Benton pantograph during development, and its softened counters borrow from the ink slurs common to small metal type. A Mono companion carries the same references into a fixed pitch.
