About
00 Eckmania Display is the large-size companion to the text cut of Double Zero's contemporary revival of Eckmannschrift, originally designed by Otto Eckmann with punches cut by Louis Hoell and published by the Rudhardsche foundry under Karl Klingspor. The revival draws on a range of historical sources rather than a single specimen, aiming for fidelity to the original while adapting the design for contemporary use. Alternate glyphs for 'a' and 'H' are included as OpenType features.
Classification
A display-optimised cut of a digital revival of Otto Eckmann's 1900 Eckmannschrift, a typeface rooted in the Art Nouveau Jugendstil tradition. The display variant is intended for larger sizes, sharing the same decorative, calligraphic character as the text cut.
