Sets Grotesk began as a brief for 'a not too quirky Grotesk' and grew into a family that uses optical sizes as a vehicle for exploring different eras of 20th-century grotesque design. Unlike typical optical size systems, the larger cuts feature taller x-heights, shorter ascenders and descenders, and wider proportions – a nod to fonts like Futura Maxi. Differing-direction cuts in diacritics and punctuation add a layer of personality without undermining the family's utilitarian core.
