Skolske
DizajnDesign · 2019

A digital revival and modernisation of the Slovak school handwriting script, used in Slovak classrooms for nearly a century and now adapted for contemporary educational materials.
About
Skolske addresses the absence of a digital version of the traditional Slovak cursive script taught in schools, while also improving legibility for left-handers and children with learning disabilities. The family spans a free tier for school printed materials and a commercial Pro tier with broad European language support, supplemented by a Layers package containing Lines, Dots, Beginnings and Arrows for use in children's workbooks. Development involved consultation with education experts and research into the historical evolution of the original script.
Classification
A digitised and modernised version of the traditional Slovak school handwriting script, with connected cursive letterforms designed specifically for educational use. Classified as script due to its cursive, joined-letter construction rooted in penmanship conventions.
