Released in 2016, Kontrast Grotesk Display and Grande rework the core grotesque into a family suited to headlines and visual identities, with equal uppercase and ascender heights, tighter character spacing and narrower diacritic signs replacing the text version's inktraps. The weight range stretches from Hairline to Ultra Black across twelve steps, with strong OpenType support including multiple numeral sets and stylistic sets. Real-world use across Slovak cultural institutions such as Fest Anča and the Oskár Čepan Award demonstrates its suitability for arts and festival branding.
Classification
A display-optimised grotesque sans-serif, purpose-built for large sizes with equal uppercase and ascender heights, tighter spacing and no inktraps. Classified as display rather than plain sans-serif because its proportions and spacing are specifically tuned against text use.
