Designed at Newglyph, Didot NG extends the historical model of extreme stroke contrast, vertical stress and unbracketed hairline serifs across an unusually broad width range, from Extra Condensed to Ultra Expanded. Two subfamilies, Didot NG and Didot NG Big, cater to body text and display settings respectively, each available in nine weights with italics. A variable font with width, weight and contrast axes allows continuous interpolation for animation and screen use as well as conventional print typesetting.

A neoclassical modern serif in the Didot tradition, characterised by extreme stroke contrast, vertical stress, unbracketed hairline serifs, and ball terminals. Follows the Enlightenment-era rationalised construction of the historical Didot types.
