MegaMegaTypeType
A high-contrast display serif from Colophon, taking its name and visual cues from vintage playing card typography, with exaggerated angular serifs, inktraps and four stylistic sets of punctuation.
About
Designed around the imagery of face cards, Kibitz delivers sharp, chiselled letterforms with angular serifs at both large and small scales. Inktraps give the design a mechanical quality, while controlled asymmetry prevents it from feeling rigidly formal. Four punctuation stylistic sets and two alternate O forms offer meaningful variation in tone across applications.
Classification
A high-contrast display serif with exaggerated angular serifs, asymmetric details and inktraps. The sharp geometric construction and ornamental character variants place it firmly in the display category rather than a text serif tradition.
