A flare serif with playful tail-like terminals, rooted in an obscure Vietnamese printing typeface from the early 1900s and available in 14 styles with a two-axis variable font file.
About
The design recovers the spirit of an unidentified typeface used in Vietnamese book printing during the early twentieth century, updating its letterforms with fine, sharp serifs and distinctive curling terminals most visible on the 'a', 'f' and 's'. Subtle Art Nouveau inflections appear in the middle bars of 'E' and 'F', lending an organic quality that reads most clearly at display sizes. Seven weights from Thin to Bold each carry a true italic slanted at 10°, all unified into a single variable font with weight and italic axes.
Classification
A flare serif with fine, sharp serifs and distinctive tail-like terminals, drawing on Vietnamese printing history and a touch of Art Nouveau influence, placing it firmly in the flare or transitional serif tradition rather than a conventional old-style or neoclassical category.
