A neutral geometric sans-serif in eight weights designed specifically for bilingual Hebrew–Latin typesetting, with full Cyrillic support added in version 2 and coverage across 230 languages.
About
Designed by Avraham Cornfeld and released in 2018, Ploni prioritises functional neutrality over stylistic character, making it well suited to contexts where Latin or Hebrew text must coexist without one script dominating the other. Its 1,113 glyphs span Hebrew, Yiddish, Latin and Cyrillic, and the family carries an extensive OpenType feature set including small caps, oldstyle figures, fractions, swashes, alternates and a gender-neutral feature. Version 2, released in 2020, added Cyrillic letterforms designed by Anna Horosh alongside wide alternate glyphs for block-justified text.
Classification
A neutral geometric sans-serif designed to work across Hebrew, Latin and Cyrillic scripts simultaneously, with rounded forms and minimal stylistic personality by design.
