A military-inspired display sans-serif evolved from an earlier design called Flier, with sharp contours suited to commanding headlines and short bursts of text.
About
Originally derived from a precursor typeface named Flier, YWFT Jute underwent deliberate refinement to arrive at its tightly controlled, sharply contoured character. Its rigid geometry and assertive weight make it most effective in headline settings where authority and concision are required. Converted to OpenType format in 2010, it remains available as a one-time desktop licence from YouWorkForThem.
Classification
A sharply contoured, military-inspired sans-serif with strong geometric structure and compressed character, placing it firmly in the display category with a specialised military/authority subcategory.
