A techno display face designed in 2000 for Michael Paul Young's DesignGraphik website, reflecting the angular, bitmap-influenced visual language that defined influential early web design.
About
Originally created as a custom typeface for the fifth version of Young's DesignGraphik art project, the font embodies the angular, rectangular aesthetic that made Young's work widely imitated in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The Black weight is suited to heavy headline use, with rigid forms and a technical, screen-born character. It was converted to OpenType in 2010.
Classification
A late-1990s techno-influenced display face with angular, blocky, rectangular letterforms drawn from the bitmap and screen-design aesthetic of early web culture. Its heavy, rigid construction places it firmly in the display/techno genre.
