displaypixel/LED display
Diode specimen from POI

A nine-weight pixel typeface built from two interlocking shapes to evoke the low-resolution LED displays found on public transport signage.

About

Each letterform is constructed from just two pixel shapes working in combination, mimicking the character of LED dot-matrix boards. The weight axis spans Thin to Black, pushing legibility to its limits at both extremes. OpenType features include tabular figures, fractions, superscripts, subscripts and a single-storey 'a' alternate, alongside rounded variants for further stylistic flexibility.

Classification

Constructed from two pixel shapes to simulate low-resolution LED dot-matrix displays, placing it firmly in the display category with a pixel/bitmap subcategory. Its experimental nature and extreme legibility range across the weight axis reinforce its display orientation.
