VZWO Elephant
VZWO Type · Viktor Zumegen · 2019

A single-weight Black display face built on narrow, deeply inktrapped letterforms with extreme contrast and rounded, waisted shapes that maximise colour on the page.
About
Designed by Viktor Zumegen and first released in 2019, VZWO Elephant achieves a dense, closed texture through extreme width compression and heavy stroke weight. Concave terminals, deep inktraps and fully rounded counters give the letters an organic quality despite their structural rigidity. At 254 glyphs, it covers 88 languages and includes contextual alternates, ligatures and case-sensitive forms.
Classification
A single-weight Black display face with extreme stroke contrast, narrow proportions and deeply waisted letterforms. Its organic, inktrapped construction and compact colour place it firmly in the display category rather than any conventional text genre.
