A playful, body-shaped display face that reads through the folds and contortions of a figure rather than conventional letterforms.
About
Typefesse renders the alphabet through folds of the body, its contortionist letters hiding inside themselves or exposing themselves to the reader. Océane Juvin named the variants after lunar phases: Claire-Obscure keeps capitals in the more graphical Obscure style and lowercase in the more contorted Claire style, while Pleine strips the outlines back for maximum readability. It works as a titling face with a legibility that surprises at small sizes.
Classification
Letters are drawn as folds of a body, readable only through the contortions of the figure they form. Claire-Obscure and Pleine variants trade off between graphic abstraction and plain legibility.
