Lithops specimen from Velvetyne

An uppercase-only fantasy display face, hand-drawn in Procreate and named after the succulent it echoes in form.

About

Lithops takes its name from the pebble-like succulent plant and its loose inspiration from Art Nouveau ornament and Matisse's cutouts. Anne-Dauphine Borione drew it first in Procreate before rebuilding it in Glyphs, working uppercase-only through a semi-modular structure that stays surprisingly cohesive despite its complexity. It sets out to test how complex a font can get while staying legible, and fun.

Classification

Uppercase-only and hand-drawn in Procreate before being rebuilt in Glyphs, aiming for a font that is complex yet cohesive and legible. Named after lithops succulents, with loose nods to Art Nouveau, Matisse cutouts and irregular organic form.
