Jgs font
Velvetyne · Adel Faure · 2023

A tribute to ASCII art pioneer Joan G. Stark, built as a monospaced bitmap face whose glyphs chain into continuous lines and patterns.
About
Jgs font honours Joan G. Stark, known as jgs or Spunk, an early pioneer of ASCII art. Adel Faure built it specifically for drawing ASCII art, with a bitmap look that blurs the line between text and image. Glyphs are designed to combine from one character to the next, producing continuous lines, curves, frames and grey values, and the family ships in sizes tuned to specific pixel multiples so the combinations stay aligned.
Classification
A tribute to Joan G. Stark, pioneer of ASCII art, drawn so its bitmap-like glyphs combine edge to edge into continuous lines, curves, frames and grey values. Released in sizes tuned to specific pixel multiples.
