Feroniapi specimen from Velvetyne

An Art Nouveau-flavoured display italic redrawn from Peter Wiegel's Feronia, built for a Strasbourg dance venue.

About

Feroniapi began as Julienne Richard's redesign of Peter Wiegel's Feronia, commissioned for the identity of the Palais des Fêtes, an Art Nouveau dance hall in Strasbourg. Curved, sociable letterforms nod to the venue's architecture and to popular dance culture. The set carries frieze-pattern flourishes, fruit and vegetable dingbats and a set of post-binary ligatures.

Classification

A redesign of Peter Wiegel's Feronia, drawn by Julienne Richard for the visual identity of Strasbourg's Palais des Fêtes. Art Nouveau curves and popular dance references shape the letters, softened for accessibility.
