Combat specimen from Velvetyne

An antique serif rebuilt from just ten letters of an early twentieth-century French anarchist newspaper masthead.

About

Combat exists because ten letters happened to survive: the masthead of Le Combat Social, an anarchist newspaper published in Limoges in the early twentieth century. A century later, Martin Desinde extended those ten letters into a full working serif, keeping the antique character of the original title lettering intact.
