Nida specimen from Vee Ratchanon

A Thai-Latin display typeface built from Thai script conventions first, translating classical loopless forms with flared details, tight spacing and slight stroke contrast into Latin.

About

Designed by Ratchanon Boongsrithong, Nida began as a Thai script exploration before its formal language was carried into Latin — an unusual workflow that gives the Latin cuts an unfamiliar rigour. Flared terminals, small counterspaces and squarish curves define its character, echoing classical proportions without relying on conventional stroke order. Its narrow proportions and tight spacing make it most effective at headline sizes.

Classification

A sharp, flared display typeface with slight stroke contrast and squarish curves, rooted in Thai script conventions before being translated into Latin. Its loopless construction with classical detailing places it in the decorative serif category.
