An eighteen-style sans that sits between Helvetica's rigour and Avenir's openness, with true italics and convertible punctuation.
About
Newsam is Typonym's extended text family. It borrows the steady rhythm of Helvetica and the open airiness of Avenir without copying either, and reads at small sizes while still holding up in bold display. Nine weights from Thin to UltraBold, true italics, round or square punctuation and wayfinding arrows round it out.
Classification
A workhorse sans placed by its designer between Helvetica and Avenir, with moderately open apertures and angled terminals; nine weights with true italics for long text and display alike.
