Jackazz specimen from Typogama

A four-weight novelty display face by Michael Parson that uses a randomisation feature to vary letterform combinations across a word, bundled with two complementary dingbat fonts.

About

Released in December 2015, Jackazz offers Regular and Bold weights, each with an italic, alongside Framez and Chickenz as companion dingbat families. The randomisation feature cycles through alternate glyphs and ligatures to produce varied typographic compositions from the same text, lending itself to headline and decorative applications where repetition would otherwise feel flat.

Classification

A playful, novelty display face with a randomisation feature built into its OpenType logic. Its expressive, informal character and ligature-driven variability place it firmly in the display/novelty category.
