A bouncy, inflated geo-grotesque in six weights with upright, italic and backslanted cuts, designed for supersized display typography and bold brand identities.
About
Drawing on Erbar, Futura and the phototypesetting-era reworkings of Fette Kabel and Futura Maxi, Rosco Jr combines humanist strokes with the static anatomy of a grotesque and sets them against compact caps and a wide, tall-x-height lowercase. A variable slant axis swings from italic to backslanted angles, with circular dots and counters that stretch and bounce elliptically. Eighteen styles cover six weights across three slant variants, with tabular and oldstyle figures, localised alternates and stylistic sets including a double-storey a, humanist s and 3, and a brutalist k and r.
Classification
Geo-grotesque drawing on Erbar, Futura and Fette Kabel, with humanist stroke inflections and the inflated, cropped proportions of phototypesetting-era display revivals. Compact caps, wide lowercase, and a tall x-height push it firmly into the geometric sans tradition despite its expressively loose construction.
