Banda Nova
Typedepot · Alexander Nedelev · 2021

A thorough reworking of Typedepot's earlier Banda typeface, with seven weights, matching italics, full Cyrillic support and a consistent rounded construction built around a tall x-height and soft terminals.
About
Designed by Alexander Nedelev, Banda Nova retains the approachable character of its predecessor while addressing uneven proportions, inconsistent curves and limited character coverage. The family's distinguishing feature is its terminals, which sit between a clean sans cut and a traditional serif, functioning as quiet anchors that keep the letterforms from feeling mechanical. With nearly twice the glyph count of the original Banda, the family now covers Extended Latin and Cyrillic with the same underlying logic throughout.
Classification
Low-contrast strokes with rounded terminals that sit between sans and serif, giving soft stops rather than sharp cuts or classic serifs. The tall x-height and consistent rounded construction place it firmly in the rounded sans tradition.
