An octagonal display sans with a segmented, mosaic-like construction spanning four widths, nine weights per width and a three-axis variable font, expanded from TypeType's earlier TT Squares.
About
TT Octosquares builds on the studio's first commercial typeface by adding four distinct width subfamilies – Compressed, Condensed, Normal and Expanded – each with nine weights and matching italics, totalling 72 static styles plus a variable font. The design's defining character comes from its junction forms, crossbar joints and clipped terminals, which give letterforms the appearance of being assembled from separate elements. OpenType features include stylistic alternates, old-style figures, circled figures, discretionary ligatures and localisations for Bashkir, Chuvash and Romanian.
Classification
An octagonal sans serif display typeface with geometric, mosaic-like construction. Its letterforms appear assembled from discrete segments with distinctive junction forms and crossbar joints, placing it firmly in the display category.
