A narrow, modular display sans evolved from TypeType's TT Tunnels, combining geometric precision with Gothic calligraphic undertones across five weights and a variable font.
About
Built on a strict modular grid with 45-degree diagonal outer cuts and no true round letterforms, TT Carvist achieves an architectural rigidity softened by large ink traps in the lowercase. The Latin script carries subtle Gothic calligraphic traces while the Cyrillic draws on ancient decorative lettering, giving the two scripts distinct but complementary characters. Alternate glyphs, including wicker figures, a distinctive lowercase E and a three-legged Cyrillic т, extend the expressive range across 803 glyphs and 195+ languages.
Classification
An experimental, modular display sans with extremely narrow proportions, 45-degree diagonal cuts, closed apertures and large ink traps. Gothic calligraphic influences in the Latin and decorative lettering motifs in the Cyrillic distinguish it from conventional geometric sans designs.
