A single-weight expressive display typeface by Olga Pankova, rooted in the visual energy of Soviet 1960s design rather than any direct historical letterform revival.
About
Curbe is contemporary in construction but draws its personality from the active, broken dynamism associated with Soviet-era graphic design of the 1960s. The typeface features extensive alternate glyphs and a rich set of ligatures, giving it flexibility for expressive display use across both Cyrillic and Latin scripts. It won recognition at Modern Cyrillic, Granshan, ADC Awards and Morisawa Type Design Competition in 2019.
Classification
A contemporary display typeface with an active, broken, dynamic quality inspired by Soviet 1960s aesthetics. While not a historical revival, it draws on the energy and style of that era, with many contextual alternates reinforcing its expressive character.
