Parcel
ToSupply · 2018

A revival of Hans Möhring's 1930 Phalanx, reimagined with compressed vertical proportions and three weights, retaining the original's distinctive thickened terminals that hover between geometric sans and semi-serif.
About
Designed between 2016 and 2018, Parcel draws from Möhring's Phalanx, originally cut for Genzsch & Heyse, whose defining trait is small finger-like terminations at stroke ends that anchor letterforms to the baseline. The vertical proportions have been tightened relative to the source material, improving suitability for text composition at compact line heights. Three weights from Book to Medium keep the family intentionally small and focused.
Classification
Geometric sans-serif revival of Hans Möhring's Phalanx (c.1930), distinguished by thickened stroke terminals that function as small scattered serifs at stroke ends, lending it an unusual hybrid character between pure geometric sans and semi-serif.
