A geometric slab serif with Art Deco leanings, distinguished from its sibling Kettering 105 by lower crossbar positions, a crossed W and distinctive lowercase letterforms.
About
Designed as a slab-serif counterpart to Talbot Type's own Kamerik sans, Kettering 205 draws inspiration from Herb Lubalin's approach of pairing a geometric sans with a slab companion. The Art Deco tendencies set it apart from the cleaner Kettering 105: capital letters carry lower crossbars, the W is crossed, and the lowercase f and k take on a distinctive character. Six weights from Thin to Heavy make it suitable for both display and text use.
Classification
A geometric slab serif with Art Deco characteristics, including lower crossbars on capitals, a crossed W and distinctive lowercase f and k. Designed as a slab-serif variation of the Kamerik sans, paralleling Lubalin's relationship between Avant Garde and Lubalin Graph.
