MegaMegaTypeType
A stencil variant of Karben that makes cuts sympathetic to each letterform rather than defaulting to the conventional vertical slice through the middle.
About
Based on the condensed geometric proportions of Talbot Type's Karben, this stencil interpretation prioritises elegant cuts over the blunter tradition of bisecting each letter with a single gap. Three weights – Regular, Bold and Black – suit headline, poster and signage use. The designer cites the condensed nature of Karben as particularly suited to stencil treatment, arguing that the best stencils are inherently narrow.
Classification
A condensed geometric sans-serif with stencil cuts made sympathetically to each letterform rather than with a simple vertical break. The condensed proportions and geometric structure place it firmly in display territory.
