A tri-line geometric display face inspired by Lance Wyman's Mexico 1968 Olympic Games graphics, distinguished by curvaceous corner junctions at key character joins.
About
Built around a lozenge grid but relaxed where right angles suit a character better, Kandel 205 avoids the slavish geometry that the designer felt made Wyman's original letterforms too eccentric for practical use. The curved junctions at characters such as A, M, N and V give it a flowing quality that separates it from its sibling, the sharper-cornered Kandel 105. Three weights cover Light, Medium and Bold, with both upper and lower case included.
Classification
A modular, monoline tri-line display face built around a lozenge form, with curvaceous corner junctions distinguishing it from its sibling Kandel 105. Strictly a display typeface with no text application intended.
