A five-style display family drawn from the headline and caption types of the Los Angeles Times, reproducing the texture of metal type printed on cheap newsprint across optical sizes from Regular to Banner.
About
Newshound is based on the Los Angeles Times's headline and caption lettering from the 1930s through the 1970s, deliberately preserving the inconsistency and grunge of letterpress printing. Five styles span a range of optical sizes suited to different levels of newspaper hierarchy, from small captions to broadsheet banners. Alternate glyphs and OpenType features extend its authentic period character.
