A faithful revival of the hand-lettered Los Angeles 'shotgun' street signs, offered across five widths and eight weights with a newly drawn matching lowercase.
About
Beachwood originates from mid-century Los Angeles metal street signs, where a fixed panel size forced letterers to draw street names at dramatically varied widths. The family codifies that improvised range into five systematic width variants – Standard, Tall, XTall, Wide and XWide – each spanning eight weights from ExtraLight to UltraBold, all with italics. A variable font is also available, alongside a newly created lowercase that complements the uppercase's signage heritage.
