Whomp draws on Becker's monthly Signs of the Times alphabets, begun in 1932 and compiled nine years later into a book that became a sign-painting bestseller. This particular alphabet existed only as words on a poster rather than a full character showing, so Alejandro Paul had to complete the missing letters himself.
