About
Articulate follows the same reductive move Berthold made going from Akzidenz Grotesk to AG Buch: taking a metal-type design through the phototype era and simplifying it for the machine. Sascha Bente redrew it from printed AG Buch samples for the Diatronic phototypesetter, keeping the small proportional quirks of the original rather than ironing them flat.
