Method Mono specimen from Slow Fonts

A contemporary geometric monospace with an unusually open approach to ligatures, designed to avoid the cramped feeling common in fixed-width typefaces.

About

Designed by Fabien Coupas between 2019 and 2021, Method Mono pairs geometric construction with a broad ligature system in which joined glyphs appear to reach into neighbouring character boxes rather than compress into a single one. This produces a more open, legible rhythm than most monospace fonts. Four weights with matching italics are included, along with oldstyle figures, a slashed zero, case-sensitive forms and several stylistic alternates including a semi-mono effect that adjusts wide characters such as M and W.

Classification

A fixed-width typeface built on geometric shapes, placing it firmly in the monospace category. Its contemporary geometric construction distinguishes it from traditional typewriter-derived mono designs, though it retains a nod to that heritage.
