A compact, sharply drawn display serif originally commissioned for Ireland's Business Post newspaper and since expanded to eight weights from Thin to Black.
About
Durand began as a single-weight headline and branding face for the Business Post, Ireland's leading financial newspaper, before being developed into a full eight-weight family. Flared serifs and crisp detailing sustain visual interest across the weight range, while the extreme Thin cut pushes the limits of legible hairline letterforms. Italics are in development and a companion text series is under consideration, though neither has been confirmed.
Classification
A compact display serif with flared serifs and sharp detailing, designed originally as a single-weight headline face and expanded to eight weights. The flared serifs place it between a pure sans and a traditional serif, in the tradition of incised or flared-stroke typefaces suited to editorial display use.
