MegaMegaTypeType
A 100-style block sans by Roch Modrzejewski, spanning five widths and ten weights with pronounced ink traps and a large x-height, available as a variable font.
About
Released in 2018, Karibu covers five widths from Narrow to Wide, each in ten weights with matching italics, totalling 100 styles. Pronounced ink traps improve legibility at small sizes while lending a confident character at display scales, and flattened letterforms in the narrower widths introduce a smooth vertical rhythm. A dedicated alternate stylistic set accommodates more technical or minimalist applications.
Classification
A block sans with geometric construction, pronounced ink traps and a large x-height. The flattened letterforms in narrower widths and the overall sturdy structure place it firmly in the geometric sans tradition with a contemporary industrial character.
