Daikon specimen from Pepper Type

A semi-closed geometric grotesque from Oleh Lishchuk, spanning eight weights with italics and covering Latin and Cyrillic scripts.

About

Designed by Oleh Lishchuk and first published in 2020, Daikon offers 16 styles across eight weights, each with a matching italic. The semi-closed apertures give it a tidy, restrained character that holds up in both body text and display contexts. Cyrillic support and multiple OpenType figure sets extend its utility across multilingual projects.

Classification

A semi-closed geometric grotesque, meaning the apertures are partially closed in the manner of geometric designs such as Futura, while retaining a clean, neutral legibility suited to both text and display settings.
